October is when the leaves turn golden and the air becomes crisp and the
bears and other animals settle in to hibernate. Except in Bristol where they come out to play at the 23rd Annual
Bristol Teddy Bear and Doll Show! Soft sculpture artist Sarah Forrest has taken this long-running show to a new level of excellence. With Sarah leading the parade the show has attracted some of the best Teddy bear and soft sculpture artists from across the North America (40+ at press time). There will also be retailers with quality manufactured pieces, a Steiff event and the public is invited to bring cherished antique Teddys or dolls for an appraisal or minor repair. To keep apace with the show's astounding growth, it will now be at the Clarion Hotel in Bristol, Connecticut. This venue will give collectors and artists a new, more comfortable and spacious setting to call home on Sunday, October 14th, 2007. And this year, there's something else new: the show will also be a benefit for Hop-A-Long Hollow, a rescue group for homeless rabbits in Connecticut. A soft sculpture collector and benefactor of Hop-A-Long Hollow has generously donated a portion of her collection to the shelter and these beautiful artist pieces will be offered to the public with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Hollow. There is also the "Bunny Challenge" to look forward to: exhibitors were all invited to create a bunny for this event and their creativity and imagination are sure to delight everyone, with the added incentive that ten percent of their adoption fees will benefit the Hollow. |
